More About Me
I’m a self-taught graphic designer with a wide passion for the design field, ranging from logo design and branding to type design, font creation, and web design layouts.
I have worked remotely for nearly 9 years with a company that has operated in both Sweden and Norway, developing logo designs and visual identities for the Scandinavian market. As a result, I have cultivated an expertise in creating modern and minimalistic designs.
In the visual identity industry, I’ve delivered final designs for over 1200 projects and have likely designed unique logos in excess of 5000.
Additionally:
– I have developed over 10 typefaces;
– I have taken hundreds of photos that I’ve transformed into mockups for graphic design presentations;
– I have designed more than 50 professionally crafted websites for various businesses using WordPress, Elementor, WooCommerce, and the CrocoBlock set of plugins;
– I have created a diverse range of design elements, including: books, banners, advertisements, stationery designs, menus, badges, and more.
Education
CNE "Gh. Chițu"
The high school I went to had nothing to do with the career I chose to follow. But as I was still undecided on what I will do, I followed the best option I thought of at the time. Still, it has helped me tons in my development and, at some point, I also did some design work for the high school, by creating the magazine for it one year.
Online Courses & Design Content
So far I must have seen thousands of hours of design related videos and online courses, read hundreds of design related articles and got inspired by dozens of creatives from around the world. Most of the content I’ve learned from most likely isn’t even available anymore. But there are a few online courses and sources of design content that have helped me along the way, both to expand my skills as to switch directions. Here are just a few of those:
Professional Experience
Creative Director, Senior Graphic & Web Designer
– Brand Creators began as a side project launched in 2017 to offer graphic design and web design services in the Romanian market.
– Since then, we have successfully developed visual identities for hundreds of businesses across various industries.
– In February 2022, I transitioned from my role as Senior Graphic Designer at a Scandinavian company to become the full-time Creative Director for Brand Creators.
– Since then, I have been responsible for leading teams, managing, and creating graphic design and web design projects.
– I am dedicated to collaborating closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver creative and innovative solutions.
Graphic Designer & Senior Graphic Designer
After deciding to fully dedicate myself to my passion for graphic design, I managed to secure a job as a logo and graphic designer for a
Scandinavian company. My main responsibility was to develop various logo proposals based on briefs provided by clients.
All of the projects originated from Scandinavia, mainly Sweden and Norway, as well as Finland and Denmark for a time. This experience helped me define a minimalistic, simplistic, and modern design style that is characteristic of the region.
Being considered “the dream job” for me, and probably for most designers, I approached my work with passion.
My main responsibilities as a graphic designer included:
– Interpreting and understanding clients’ needs from the given briefs
– Creating multiple logo proposals per project
– Meeting deadlines
– The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
– Handling revisions based on clients’ feedback
– Preparing the final files once the design was approved by the client
– Communicating with the Creative Director while working on projects
– Designing and developing other elements based on project requirements
In addition to my previous responsibilities, I began seeking ways to enhance the company’s image and the quality of our services. This initiative helped us grow and stay ahead of our competitors. Some of the actions and responsibilities I undertook that contributed to our growth include:
– Continuously improving and adapting our project presentations for clients
– Identifying new products and services that we can offer to benefit our clients
– Upgrading our company’s visual identity
– Proposing new promotional strategies
– Establishing a structure that new designers can easily follow when joining the company
– Training new designers in our company’s processes
– Conducting market research to discover new ways to maintain our competitive edge
Marketing Sales Consultant
While also doing freelance graphic design, I decided to try a different direction.
Around the time when discount websites were just emerging and gaining popularity, I had the pleasure of working with one of the most popular sites at that time. The website offered daily new, high-quality deals across a variety of niches, which contributed to its widespread appeal.
My role was that of a Marketing & Sales Consultant, which included tasks and responsibilities such as:
– Conducting market research to identify niches that are most popular with our target audience
– Thinking outside the box to discover new and attractive offers that would capture our audience’s attention
– Contacting and sending offers to potential partners to secure new offers for the website
– Negotiating and finalizing offers with new or existing partners
– Presenting newly acquired offers to the website owners
– Writing and adding offers to the website
– Maintaining relationships with partners
– Keeping track of existing offers and optimizing them for better performance
– Engaging in brainstorming sessions with the team to find new ways to promote our website and acquire new offers
Freelance Graphic Designer
My passion for graphic design started while I was still in middle school, even before I knew what graphic design was. I started my career like many other designers from my generation, and the next generations, with a Photoshop license obtained from torrents and online tutorials.
What began as forum signatures and Yahoo! Messenger avatars soon turned into a passion for graphic design and developing visual identities. Passion and curiosity have fueled my growth as a graphic designer, giving me the opportunity to work on a variety of projects with companies from different niches and from multiple corners of the world.
During these years, I have learned many skills, including:
– Development of visual identities (logo, stationery, style guides) based on client briefs
– Applying a brand’s visual identity in marketing materials
– Creating websites using WordPress
– Research and brand naming
– Typeface design
– Creating mockups and other design resources
– Email marketing
– The ability to interpret and understand clients’ needs
– Product development
– Market research
