Project context
The collaboration started in 2018, at a moment when the business existed physically, but not conceptually. A hotel was being built on the Black Sea coast, yet there was no name, no identity, and no visual direction to support its launch.
The initial need wasn’t a logo or a website. It was clarity, a brand foundation that could support a new hospitality destination from day one, and continue to evolve as the business grew.
What followed became a long-term collaboration spanning several years, during which the brand expanded across touchpoints, environments, and eventually into a second location.
Establishing the brand foundation
The first step was defining the brand at its most fundamental level. Multiple naming directions were explored, each evaluated for tone, memorability, and long-term relevance within a competitive tourism context.
The final name – MANOR – balanced structure and elegance, while subtly referencing Mamaia Nord. From there, the visual identity was built as a system, not a collection of isolated assets. Logo, typography, and colour palette were designed together, setting clear rules for how the brand would behave across different contexts.
The goal was to create a restrained, modern identity that could scale without needing reinvention.
Translating the system into essential touchpoints
Once the brand foundation was established, the focus shifted toward real-world application. The identity system was applied to essential materials that define early guest interactions, such as stationery, room key card holders, and email signatures.
These early applications validated the system’s clarity and flexibility, ensuring it could function consistently in everyday operational use.
Extending the brand into digital
As the business prepared to communicate online, the identity system was extended into a presentation website. Rather than treating the website as a separate product, it was designed as a direct extension of the existing brand language.
Launched in 2018 and built on WordPress, the site followed the same visual rules defined earlier, reinforcing consistency across physical and digital touchpoints.

On-site visibility and guest experience expansion
As the hotel became fully operational, new needs emerged around visibility and guest experience. The brand system was extended into large-format outdoor signage, designed for durability, legibility, and strong on-site presence.
At the same time, the system continued to expand into additional hospitality materials: restaurant menus, breakfast door hangers, and table mats. Each new element followed the same core design rules, allowing the brand to grow organically without fragmenting its identity.
This stage confirmed that the system wasn’t just visually coherent, but operationally scalable.
Scaling the brand into a second location
Several years into the collaboration, the client acquired a second hotel in a mountain location. The challenge shifted from creating something new to scaling what already existed.
Instead of rebranding, the solution was a brand extension: MANOR SKI. The existing logo system was adapted to support location-based differentiation while preserving brand equity. The result was a unified system capable of representing two distinct destinations under a single visual language.
Unifying communication across locations
With two locations in place, the focus moved toward cross-promotion and unified communication. Shared materials were developed to visually connect the seaside and mountain experiences: flyers, presentation folders, double-sided A4 overviews, and parking lot banner.
All assets were designed to reinforce the relationship between the two locations, presenting them as parts of the same brand ecosystem rather than separate entities.
Outcome
Since 2018, MANOR evolved into a scalable brand design system applied consistently across physical environments, digital platforms, and promotional materials.
The project demonstrates how early naming and identity decisions can support long-term growth, allowing a brand to expand into new locations and contexts without losing clarity or cohesion.
